Learn the fundamentals of receiving the ball. As a receiver you will focus on improving hand, eye and foot coordination and speed. Other areas of concentration include alignment on the line of scrimmage, release off the line of scrimmage, running routes, and perfecting your timing and rhythm. Learning to properly receive, tuck, and carry the ball is another essential piece to the success of this position.
Strength and conditioning will focus mainly on the legs and upper core area of the body to strengthen the athlete for receiving. Combined with the strength and conditioning program, athletes can expect to undergo an advance speed and agility program to develop a faster release off the line of scrimmage and improve their timing on routes.
